Tim provides strategic communications counsel to companies and private equity firms in support of transactions and other special situations, including mergers and acquisitions, crisis and issues management, and long-term corporate positioning and investor relations programs. His areas of expertise include:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions: He advises companies on the communications challenges involved in both friendly and unsolicited M&A transactions. Recent assignments include: Blackstone and CF Corp. in the acquisition of Fidelity & Guaranty Life; INC Research in its merger with inVentiv Health; iflix in its new funding round from investors Liberty Global, Sky, Zain, Catcha Group and Evolution Media Capital; DH Corporation in its sale to Vista Equity Partners; VCA in its sale to Mars; and Alere in its sale to Abbott Laboratories.
  • Crisis and Issues Management: He has developed and executed communications strategies to help senior management and boards of directors advance their business objectives and protect their companies’ reputations across a variety of situations, including shareholder activism, unplanned leadership changes, cybersecurity breaches, and bankruptcies and financial restructurings.
  • Investor Relations and Public Relations: He works closely with senior management and outside financial and legal advisors to develop and enhance clients’ IR and PR programs, including quarterly earnings preparation, investor conferences and annual shareholder meetings.

Tim joined Joele Frank in 2016. He previously worked at Prosek Partners, where he advised clients across asset management, financial and professional services on strategic communications, and at the global law firm of Kirkland & Ellis, where he supported firm management and senior partners on media relations and communications. Tim began his career as an on-camera television news reporter at stations in Michigan, Missouri and West Virginia.

Tim received an MS in finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BA cum laude from Princeton University.
