Managing Director
Tim has more than 20 years of communications experience, including nearly a decade as a broadcast journalist. He advises management teams and boards of public companies and private equity firms, developing and executing multi-stakeholder communications strategies in high-profile corporate, financial and crisis situations, as well as supporting ongoing investor and media relations. Transaction Communications
He advises clients in both friendly and unsolicited M&A transactions, IPOs and SPACs. Private Equity
He advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies on transaction and crisis communications, as well as ongoing positioning. Current clients include Apollo, Arcline, CC Capital, Cornell Capital, Kanders & Company, L Catterton, Roark Capital and Z Capital.
Crisis Communications
He advises clients on executive leadership and Board changes, quarterly earnings surprises, shareholder activism, cybersecurity incidents, defense against short sellers, regulatory actions and inquiries, and litigation.
Restructuring & Bankruptcy
He advises clients on both court-supervised and out-of-court restructurings. His experience includes: Avianca Holdings, Constellis, General Wireless (RadioShack), Homer City Generation, Libbey, Pier 1, Service King, Taco Bueno Restaurants and The Bon-Ton Stores.
Tim joined Joele Frank in 2016. He previously worked at Prosek Partners, where he advised clients across asset management, financial and professional services, and at the global law firm Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he supported senior partners on media relations and managed firmwide PR and communications programs.
Tim received an MS in finance from the University of Rochester’s Simon Business School, an MA in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a BA cum laude in history from Princeton University.
