Maggie provides strategic counsel and communications support to companies across industries in a broad range of special situations and high-profile events, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism defense, restructurings and bankruptcies and crisis management. In addition, she works with clients to develop and refine their investor and public relations programs. Her areas of expertise include:

Transaction Communications

She has advised on a variety of transaction types including contested, go-private, spin-off and IPO transactions. Select assignments include advising Teck Resources in its hostile defense against Glencore plc, Newmont Corporation in its acquisition of Newcrest Mining, TravelCenters of America in its sale to BP p.l.c., U.S. Xpress in its sale to Knight-Swift Transportation, Griffin Realty Trust in its direct listing on the New York Stock Exchange, Argo in its sale to Brookfield Reinsurance, Concert Pharmaceuticals in its sale to Sun Pharma, Maxar Technologies in its sale to Advent International, Orthofix Medical in its merger with SeaSpine, Twitter in its sale to Elon Musk, Entegris in its acquisition of CMC Materials, and Affirm in its initial public offering on Nasdaq, among others. Post-announcements, she has also supported several companies through complex regulatory review processes and integration.

Shareholder Activism

She has supported companies in public and private activist situations opposite some of the most notable activist investors, including Starboard Value, Elliott Management, Jana, Third Point, Land & Buildings, Legion Partners, Ancora, Barington and Voce Capital.

Crisis Communications and Special Situation Communications

She has experience supporting clients with crisis preparedness and responses related to a range of issues including litigation, reputational attacks, regulatory inquiries, recalls, short attack campaigns, cybersecurity incidents, corporate reorganizations and leadership changes, both planned and unplanned.

Investor Relations & Public Relations

She works with clients to enhance their overall corporate communications strategy, including corporate positioning and message development, quarterly earnings preparation, employee communications, thought leadership and profile raising, analyst days and annual shareholder meetings.

Restructuring & Bankruptcy

She advises companies involved in out-of-court financial restructurings and in-court Chapter 11 reorganizations. Select assignments include: FTX, Dean Foods, Libbey Glass and Taco Bueno.

Maggie joined Joele Frank in 2018. She received a BA in History from Dartmouth College.
