Colin combines his enthusiasm for storytelling with communications experience across industries to assist clients throughout their most complex, high-stakes situations. He brings a thoughtful approach to assist clients on a range of event-driven work, including corporate crises, friendly and unsolicited mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism defense, and C-suite management changes. He also works with management teams on ongoing reputation management, investor relations and corporate communications matters.

Colin has advised on a number of friendly, unsolicited and contested M&A transactions of various sizes, including the partnership between United States Steel Corporation and Nippon Steel Corporation, UniFirst in its pending acquisition by Cintas, Belden in its acquisition of RUCKUS Networks, Black Hills Corporation and NorthWestern Energy in their pending merger of equals, Catalyst Pharma in its acquisition by Angelini Pharma, and KalVista Pharmaceutical in its acquisition by Chiesi Group.

Shareholder Activism Defense

Colin has worked on a number of public and private activist situations opposite notable investors including Elliott Investment Management, Engine Capital, Barrington Capital and Ancora Advisors, among others.

Crisis and Issues Management

Colin assists companies facing a number of crisis situations, including high-profile litigation, government inquiries and investigations, management succession and unplanned leadership changes, reputational attacks, workforce reductions and facility closures and cybersecurity incidents.

Corporate Communications and Investor Relations

Colin works closely with management teams to develop alongside outside financial and legal advisors to develop and enhance ongoing investor and public relations programs, including corporate positioning, quarterly earnings preparation, executive profile-raising, thought leadership initiatives and communicating to key stakeholders. He also assists companies in preparing for investor events such as conference appearances and investor days.
