Director

Sophie provides strategic counsel and communications support to companies involved in special situations, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism, restructurings and bankruptcies, and management changes. She also assists clients with ongoing investor relations, corporate communications and crisis preparedness and management.

Mergers & Acquisitions

She supports clients in the announcement and rollout of M&A transactions, as well as managing internal and external communications through close. Notable transactions include: Square in its pending acquisition of Afterpay, Salesforce in its acquisition of Slack, Varian in its acquisition by Siemens Healthineers, LendingClub in its acquisition of Radius Bank, The Simply Good Foods Company in its acquisition of Quest Nutrition, Snyder’s-Lance in its sale to Campbell Soup Company, Zynga in its acquisition of Small Giant Games, Silver Spring Networks in its sale to Itron, Chicago Bridge & Iron in its sale to McDermott International, Pilgrim’s Pride in its acquisition of Moy Park, and SUPERVALU in its acquisition by United Natural Foods.

Investor Relations & Corporate Communications

She works closely with management teams to develop and enhance clients’ overall communications strategy, including IR and PR programs, internal communications programs, media relations efforts, and quarterly earnings preparation. She has driven the content creation and successful execution of Analyst and Investor Days for companies including Public Storage, Deluxe Corporation and Lifetime Brands.

Shareholder Activism

She has supported companies in public activism situations opposite some of the most notable activist investors, including Elliott Management, ValueAct Capital and Engaged Capital, among others. She also advises clients in situations where an activist agitates privately and works to develop preparedness plans.

Sophie joined Joele Frank in 2017. Previously, she held various roles in SEC Reporting and Corporate FP&A at Symantec. She received a BS in Finance with a minor in Classical Studies from Santa Clara University.
