Julia provides strategic communications counsel to financial sponsors including private equity firms and their portfolio companies, as well as alternative asset managers focused in private credit and real assets. Notable transactions include advising CC Capital in its buyout of Dun & Bradstreet, as well as its listing of Collier Creek and subsequent combination with Utz Quality Foods to form Utz Brands, Inc.; L Catterton in its investments in Hydrow and The Honest Company, acquisitions of Del Frisco’s and Cholula and in the firm’s sale of Punch Bowl Social to Cracker Barrel; Compass Diversified Holdings in its acquisition of Marucci Sports; Bernhard Capital’s Charah Solutions in its IPO; Cornell Capital in its acquisitions of World Kitchen (now Corelle Brands) and Talcott Resolution from The Hartford; NexPhase in its sale of Inside Real Estate to Lovell Minnick Partners and the firm’s investments in Popcornopolis and Surgent (now KnowFully); and Cranemere in its acquisition of NorthStar Anesthesia from TPG.
Portfolio Level Support
She provides ongoing support to a range of portfolio companies, including advising General Partners (GPs) in communications to generate favorable media coverage, mitigate potential negative news and ensure that broader GP messaging is consistent across the portfolio. These activities include management changes, bolt-on acquisitions and targeted profile raising initiatives.
She assists clients with crisis preparedness and communications for matters relating to COVID-19, financial restructurings, workplace misconduct, regulatory inquiries, cybersecurity and data breaches, high-profile litigation, diversity and inclusion, facility and store closures and workforce reductions.
Fundraising and Investor Relations
She regularly supports financial sponsors with communications around capital raises, including the formation of investment platforms and new strategy launches, as well as interim and final fund closes. She also works with clients to enhance their overall corporate communications strategies, including assisting with message development, quarterly earnings preparation and other investor materials.
Julia joined Joele Frank in 2017. She began her career as an investment banking analyst in the Global Consumer Retail and Business Services group at Deutsche Bank. She received a BS in Finance from Villanova University.
