Kaitlin provides strategic counsel and communications support to companies across industries and in a wide range of special situations, including mergers and acquisitions, shareholder activism and crisis management. In addition, she works with clients to develop and refine their investor and public relations programs. Her areas of expertise include:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions: She works with clients in both friendly and unsolicited M&A transactions. Notable assignments include advising: Silver Spring Networks in its sale to Itron; Gilead in its acquisition of Kite Pharma; Thermo Fisher Scientific its acquisition of Patheon; DigitalGlobe in its sale to MDA; VCA in its sale to Mars, Inc; Symantec in its acquisition of Blue Coat Systems; SolarCity in its sale to Tesla; Commune Hotels & Resorts in its merger with Destination Hotels; Cabela’s in its sale to Bass Pro Shops; Thermo Fisher Scientific in its acquisition of Affymetrix; CalAmp in its acquisition of LoJack; and Fairchild Semiconductor in its sale to ON Semiconductor.
  • Shareholder Activism: She has worked with companies in both public and private activism situations opposite Starboard Value, Corvex Management, Pershing Square, Elliott Management, JANA Partners, Marcato Capital Management and Legion Partners, among others.
  • Crisis and Issues Management: She develops and executes communications strategies to help companies advance their business objectives and protect their reputations in a variety of situations, including data breaches, litigation, patent disputes, restructurings, facility closures and workforce reductions, management succession and unplanned leadership changes and reputational attacks.
  • Investor Relations & Public Relations: She assists companies in enhancing their overall communications strategy, including corporate positioning, profile-raising, thought leadership, employee communications and quarterly earnings preparation.

Kaitlin joined Joele Frank in 2015. She received a BA in Finance and Marketing from the University of San Diego. Kaitlin sits on the Young Professional Advisory Council of Make-A-Wish in the Bay Area.
