Julie advises on media and investor relations strategies for clients involved in a broad range of special situations, with a focus on private equity, real estate and other alternative asset managers. Her areas of expertise include:
- Financial Sponsors: She advises private equity firms and their portfolio companies as well as hedge funds, real estate firms and other alternative asset managers on strategic communications for investor and media relations, deal activity and fundraising efforts. Current clients include: Cinven, L Catterton, Kayne Anderson, Ridgewood Energy, Z Capital Group, Fundamental Advisors, Tower Three Partners, Kanders & Co. and Aurora Capital Group.
- M&A and Shareholder Activism: Recent assignments include advising: Catterton on its merger with LVMH’s private equity arm, L Capital; PJT Partners on its merger with Blackstone’s advisory business; Associated Estates on its sale to Brookfield; Kayne Anderson on the proposed merger with Ares; Z Capital on its acquisition of Waldhaus Flims in Switzerland; Fundamental Advisors on its acquisition of the El San Juan hotel; and The Safariland Group on its acquisition of Vievu. She has also counseled several companies in their interactions with unsolicited bidders and activist investors.
- Media Relations: She counsels clients on engaging with the media and strategically elevating their profiles through developing and highlighting key messages and identifying optimal approaches for pitching news stories.
- Investor Relations: She advises closely-held and publicly-listed clients to help them enhance and implement their investor relations programs, including assisting with their quarterly earnings preparation, corporate announcements, investor presentations and buy- and sell-side targeting in advance of a public listing.
Julie joined Joele Frank in 2015. She previously worked at Prosek Partners where she advised the firm’s financial services clients, including private equity firms, asset managers and hedge funds, on strategic communications and investor relations. She began her career in the U.S. Senate, assisting the Chief of Staff to Senator Mark L. Pryor. Julie received a BS in Public Administration from University of Central Arkansas.
